Active ingredient: Sodium Hypochlorite
Generic Name: Sodium Hypochlorite (Dakin's® Solution)

Sodium Hypochlorite - used for:
Preventing and treating infection of the skin and tissue. It may also be used before and after surgery or to treat cuts, abrasions, and skin ulcers. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor. Sodium Hypochlorite is a topical antimicrobial, which works by killing bacteria.

Warnings:
FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY
Stop use and ask a doctor is redness, irritation, swelling or pain persists or increases.
Do not use if you are sensitive or allergic to any ingredient in Sodium Hypochlorite or to chlorine compounds.
Contact your doctor or health care provider right way if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substance. Some medicines may interact with Sodium Hypochlorite. However, no specific interactions with sodium Hypochlorite are known at this time. This may not be a complete list of all interactions that may occur. Ask your doctor or health care provider if Sodium Hypochlorite may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your doctor or health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose.

Directions/ How to use Sodium Hypochlorite:
Use Sodium Hypochlorite as directed by your doctor. Check the labels on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
This product is for external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes, ears, nose and mouth. If you get Sodium Hypochlorite in your eyes, rinse immediately with cool water.
Pour Sodium Hypochlorite on or apply to the affected area as directed on the package labeling or by your doctor. For wound management use Sodium Hypochlorite as an irritant, cleanser, or the wetting agent for a wet-to-moist  dressing.

Protect the normal skin surrounding the wound with a moisture barrier ointment or skin sealant as needed.
If you miss a dose of Sodium Hypochlorite, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Ask your doctor or health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Sodium Hypochlorite.

Important safety information about Sodium Hypochlorite:
Stop using Sodium Hypochlorite and check with your doctor if redness, irritation, swelling or pain persists or increases.
Sodium Hypochlorite may bleach clothing.

Possible side effects of Sodium Hypochlorite:
All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome: Mild skin irritation.
Seek medical attention right away if the SEVERE side effects occur.

If OVERDOSE is suspected:
Contact 1-800-222-1222 (The American Association of Poison Control Centers), your local poison control center (http:wwwaapcc.org/findyour.htm),  or an emergency room immediately.

First Aid:
Eye contact: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water and seek medical attention.
Ingestion: If swallowed, drink large quantities of water, milk or gelatin solution and call a physician or Poison Control Center.
Do not give vinegar or other acids.
No not induce vomiting.
Antidote: Sodium thiosulfate, gastric lavage.
Inhalation: If breathing problems occur seek fresh air immediately.

Proper storage of sodium Hypochlorite:
Store Sodium Hypochlorite at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C), in a tightly closed container. Do not freeze. Store away from heat and light. Keep Sodium Hypochlorite out of the reach of children and away from pets.
